The Court amended Rules 57.01, 58.01, 59.01, and 74.04, effective January 1, 2027, modernizing the rules’ electronic-copy service requirements for interrogatories, document requests, requests for admission, and summary judgment statements of uncontroverted material facts. The amendments delete references to delivery on a “diskette, CD-ROM or as an e-mail attachment” and to formats readable by “Word for Windows or WordPerfect 5.x or higher,” leaving the format requirement generic: “in a format that can be read by most commonly used word processing programs.” The certificate of service must state the format and the medium used to transmit the electronic copy, and for the three discovery rules, the responding party’s name and the set number.
